Lance Parker

Head Football Coach

Previously, Coach Parker served as the wide receivers coach at Paris High School in Paris, Texas from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, He served as the Defensive Coordinator for Desoto Central HS in Southaven, MS. From 2012-2016 he served as the Offensive Coordinator/QBs for Bryant High School. In 2016, he served as the Co-Offensive Coordinator/Wide receivers for the 2016 state champion Russellville Cylcones.

Coach Parker graduated from Bryant High School and started at quarterback for 3 years at Ouachita Baptist University. He has a Master’s Degree from Arkansas State University. He has one daughter named Ella who is 5.

Carl attended Berryville High School where he was a student-athlete playing football and baseball for the Bobcats. Graduated in 1999. His athletic career extended into college where he was a member of the North Arkansas College baseball team before transferring to play at the University of the Ozarks. He served as a student-assistant coach in his last semester. He graduated with a B.S. in physical education and health in 2004.A 2nd generation coach, Owens began his career at Marshall High School in 2005. He was FB Offensive Coordinator and head baseball coach. In 2007, the Bobcats were 1-3A Conference Champs and finished with a school best 10-1 record. Owens was hired to coach FB and Baseball by the Mountain Home School District in 2008. He coached running backs and safeties from 2008-2009 and secondary from 2009-2012 while acting as Facilities Coordinator. Carl served as Special Teams Coordinator for 3 seasons from 2008-2010. Owens was hired by SHS in 2013 to coach Linebackers. In 2014 he was promoted to Defensive Coordinator and again in 2015 to Asst. Head Coach.  His wife, Melodee, a graduate of the University of Arkansas, is in private practice as a speech-language pathologist.




Chaseton McCarthy

Position: Wide Receiver Coach/Offensive Coordinator

Coach McCarthy graduated from Cedarville High School where he played football and basketball. After high school, he attended the University of Central Arkansas where he graduated with a BSE degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Health Education.  McCarthy began his coaching career at Hendrix College in 2013, coaching wide receivers as a student assistant coach. From 2014 to 2016, Coach McCarthy taught secondary social studies and served as Special Teams Coordinator and WR’s Coach for the Mountain Home Bombers, as well as Head Bowling and Assistant Track Coach. During the 2016-17 school year, he served as the Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator and taught secondary social studies at Clarendon High School. He married his wife Hannah, a graduate of UCA and current UAMS student, in 2015.

Coach Rowe attended Batesville High School from 1993 to 1996 where he played football and ran track. He had previously attended Lakeview Centennial High School in Rowlett ,Texas. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as an infantryman for the 1st Marine Division. After the Marine Corps, he attended Lyon College where he received a BA in history and then Arkansas State University where he received a MS in Educational Leadership. He coached outside linebackers and defensive ends for the Batesville Pioneers from 2012 until 2016. He will also serve as an assistant wrestling coach at Sheridan High School. He has 1 daughter named Jocelyn who is 11.  



Pete Bradley

Position: Offensive Line

Coach Bradley began his career at Sheridan in 2011 under Coach Tony Bone and the SFA Stingers as the offensive and defensive line coach.  In 2012, Coach Bradley started coaching for SHS as the defensive line coach.

Coach Bradley serves as a high school science teacher and head wrestling coach for SHS. Coach Bradley has also coached track for Sheridan.

Coach Leatherwood graduated from Lake Hamilton High School where he was an All-State Offensive Guard. Adam also received Garland County football player of year award 1998. After high school Coach Leatherwood attended Arkansas Tech University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History. In 2010 Coach Leatherwood began his coaching career at Palestine-Wheatley. Coach Leatherwood has made other coaching stops at Carlisle, and Camden Fairview before joining the Sheridan Yellowjackets in 2016.

Coach McDermott graduated from Jacksonville High School where he played football. After high school, he attended Arkansas State University where he graduated with a BSE in kinesiology and Health. Coach McDermott started his teaching and coaching career at Hazen in 2003 as the offensive and defensive line coach. He took over as defensive coordinator at Hazen in 2007. In 2014 to 2015 he was defensive coordinator and linebacker coach at Jacksonville High school before taking the offensive line coaching duty at Sheridan High School in 2016. He now serves as the linebacker coach for the 2017 Sheridan High School Team. He is married to Marcie and has 4 kids, son Raleigh (15), son Ty (13), daughter Bailey (9) and son Max (2).

Coach Bone is a 1977 graduate of Sheridan High School where he played football for Coach Charlie Whitworth. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1982 with a BSE in Health and Physical Education. He is now in his 11th year at Sheridan and serves as the Head 9th Grade Football Coach and Head High School Girls Track. Previous coaching stints : Defensive Coordinator, Assistant Girls Basketball, and Head Golf at Trinity Heights Christian Academy in Shreveport, LA, Defensive Coordinator and Head Track at Plain Dealing Academy in Plain Dealing, LA, Athletic Director, Head Football and Head Baseball at Glenbrook High School in Minden, LA, Head Football, Head Girls Basketball at Sarepta High School in Sarepta, LA, Assistant Football, Head Girls Basketball at Minden High School in Minden, LA and Head Girls Basketball at West Ouachita High School in West Monroe, LA. He was named the Louisiana State Girls Basketball Coach of the Year in 1992 and was part of 3 State Championships and 5 State Runner-Ups while coaching in Louisiana..

Coach Anglin spent his early years in Orange, California. After moving to Arkansas, he graduated from Clinton High School. In High School, he ran track, played basketball, baseball and football (played in the Arkansas High School Association All-star football and baseball games). After high school, he attended Southern Baptist Jr. College where he played basketball and baseball. He then transferred to Arkansas Tech University where he earned BSE in health and Physical Education. At Arkansas Tech Coach Anglin was and All Conf. performer in baseball. After completing his college eligibility, he signed and played in the Atlanta Braves organization. He spent 15 of his 32-year coaching at Lake Hamilton. During his career, he has coached basketball, baseball, track and field, gymnastics, swimming and golf. 





Kirby Johnson

Coach Johnson began his career at Sheridan Junior High (now Sheridan Middle School) in 2002 under Coach Mike Moore as the receivers/defensive backs coach for the 8th grade Sheridan Stingers and 7th grade Travel Team.  Starting in 2008, Coach Johnson served the 9th grade Stingers under Coach Tony Bone as receiver/linebackers coach.
Coach Johnson teaches history at Sheridan High School and also serves as assistant Junior High Boy's Basketball coach since 2002.





Eddie Paul Woodall

Grandchildren: Alisah, Bay, Easton, Alex

Eddie Woodall is a member of First Landmark Baptist Church and is a part of Pairs and Spares Sunday School class. He graduated from Sheridan High and from UALR. Coach Woodall has coached and taught in Sheridan Schools for 34 years.


Hobbies are Spending time with Family, Fishing, and Hunting.





Sam Tyler

Position: Assistant 8th Grade Football/Assistant Baseball

Coaching Endorsement/Physical Education/Middle School Social Studies



Sam Tyler was All-Conference/All-Tournament and on 2 Baseball State Finalist teams in 1993 and 1994 while attending Conway High School. In college, he went 3 years to the University of the Ozarks then transferred to Arkansas State where he lettered in baseball.


Coach Tyler started coaching as a volunteer at Conway High School in 1999. He was the Head Baseball Coach at Central Baptist College for 3 years and a Graduate Assistant at University of Central Arkansas. He spent 5 years at West Side Greers Ferry where he served as the Head Baseball Coach, Boys/Girls Golf Coach, and Athletic Director which included a Baseball State Finalist, 3 Semifinals, and the school’s 1st Girls Golf State Title. The last 6 years he has been the Head Baseball Coach at El Dorado High School where he led the 2012 Wildcats to their first baseball state title in the school's history. 





Derek Stokes

Derek Stokes is a 2008 graduate of Dierks High School where he graduated as Salutatorian of his class. He attended college at Henderson State University where he graduated in 2013 with a BSE in Health and Physical Education. Derek began his teaching career at East End Intermediate where he taught PE for 3 years. He transferred to Sheridan Jr. High in the fall of 2016 where he teaches 7-8th grade Health. While at Sheridan, he has coached tennis, track, and football. Coach Stokes married his wife Mandi in 2014. She is also a teacher at the Sheridan Elementary School. They have a daughter named Malee. His hobbies are to hunt, fish, and play sports.

Coach Welch started his career at Mountain Home, where he coached 7th grade and Jr High football for 1 year each. He then moved to Sheridan and coached his first year as a 9th grade Assistant and the last 3 years as a 7th grade Assistant coach. Coach Welch has taught High School Social Studies for the past 4 years. He married his wife Robin in the summer of 2017.




Matt Garner

Coach Garner is a graduate of Sheridan High School. While in high school, Coach Garner played football and threw shot and disc for the track team.  After high school, he attended college at the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he received his associate degree.  He transferred to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he received his Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing Science.  He attended graduate school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he received his Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology.  He started his working carreer at Watson Chapel School District where he served as a Speech Therapist.  He started working for Sheridan School District in 2016.  He currently serves East End Intermediate and East End Elementary as a Speech Therapist.  Coach Garner also serves on the 9th grade staff as offensive line coach and defensive coordinator.  This is his second year as an assistant 9th grade coach. He married his wife Amanda in July of 2014.
